Musical Expressions: Madelyn Wanner Salazar
Madelyn Wanner Salazar is an active concert soloist in the Washington, DC area. She has performed in such venues as the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC), Jazz at Lincoln Center (New York City), and The National Hispanic CulturalCenter (Albuquerque, NM).
She has been a professional voice and piano teacher in the region for the past seven years.
Ms. Wanner-Salazar teaches beginning to intermediate piano, and beginning to advanced voice. She has worked with students of all ages. Her goal as a teacher is to meet each student where they are to build confidence and discipline through the study of music. Ms. Salazar hopes that students will apply these lessons outside the studio in the way they inhabit the world around them. In addition to an appreciation for music, her students develop a sense of confidence through musical study that stays with them throughout their lives. Ms. Wanner Salazar has served on the voice faculty at Carroll Community College and Oakcrest School, and has served as a guest clinician in the region. She maintains a private studio at her home in Virginia.  In addition to her work in music she is also pursuing a career in speech-language pathology.
